Weather: Summer Season

Hot and very humid.
Generally hot days (30 °C / 86 °F-35 °C / 95 °F)
and warm nights (25 °C / 77 °F-30 °C / 86 °F)
June – August
Constant threat of thunderstorms and typhoons.

When a typhoon is about 700 to 1000 kilometres southeast of Hong Kong, the weather is usually fine and exceptionally hot, but isolated thunderstorms sometimes occur in the evenings. If the centre comes closer to Hong Kong, winds will increase and rain can become heavy and widespread. Heavy rain from tropical typhoons may last for a few days and subsequent landslips and flooding sometimes cause considerably more damage than the winds.

What to Bring

Umbrella is a MUST, don’t bother with raincoats as you will bake in it under the sun. Sunglasses and sunscreen lotion for the hot sun! Bring lots of t shirts, shorts and wear slippers.

Good Time to Visit?

Avoid if possible! Worst time to be in Hong Kong, even the locals hate it!
