Legislative Council Building, Old Supreme Court
Located in Central Hong Kong, along the eastern side of Statue Square, directly west of Chater Garden
The Legislative Council Building also called the Former Supreme Court Building is a Declared monuments of Hong Kong.
It was home to the Supreme Court until 1985 when it was converted for its present use. The most outstanding feature of the building is the pediment in the center of the building that contains the statue of the Greek Goddess of Justice, Themis who is blindfolded and holds a scale. During WWII it was a headquarters of the Gendarmerie, the Japanese version of the Gestapo, and many people were executed here.
